Request by the County Library for approval to accept an amendment to an agreement with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation to extend the grant end date to September 30, 2026 for the FY25 Family Place Program.

Background and Discussion:
Family Place Libraries is a proprietary program designed to enhance the parent/child bond and parents' confidence in their parenting skills. The bulk of the program is delivered through specially designed workshops, which are delivered at the libraries. The libraries are outfitted with toys and inviting spaces for families to play together. This grant allows the program to be installed in five branch libraries.
The period of performance was extended to September 30, 2026, to allow additional time to expend funds.
Expected Impact:
This program provides high-quality parenting training to people who may otherwise be unable to access such services at the Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library and Stratford Branch Library. In addition, it also teaches participants how to access community services.
Alternative Options:
