Background and Discussion:

On August 26, 2025, Commissioners Court approved the Department Head Annual Performance Evaluation process for OCA-reporting departments. The process established an approach for fostering accountability, promoting professional growth, recognizing excellent performance, and preparing department heads to address County priorities.

As part of the FY26 performance evaluation cycle, the County Administrator held mid-year check-ins with OCA-reporting department heads in June 2026. These check-ins provided an opportunity to discuss goals and expectations, alignment with the Strategic Plan, progress toward identified priorities, and areas requiring additional support or attention.

Attached to this transmittal is a summary of the participating departments and the dates of the mid-year check-ins.

Expected Impact:
Completion of the mid-year check-ins supports the Department Head Performance Evaluation Process approved by Commissioners Court. Information gathered during the check-ins will inform future performance discussions.
