Background and Discussion:
This change in contract is needed to extend the contract duration to provide the contractor with sufficient time to complete the additional work added to the contract to meet the contractual obligation. This change in contract will extend the duration of contract by 90 days due to additional scope. Also, the project limits will be extended from station (STA) 60+60 (the current endpoint) to STA 70+00 to incorporate additional work.

Expected Impact:
This change will allow the contractor to complete the project and work extension to meet the contractual obligation of achieving 82% of the contract value.

Alternative Options:
This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
