Background and Discussion:
The Harris County Sheriff's Training Academy, located at 2316 Atascocita Road in Humble, Texas (Precinct 3),
opened in 2006. Currently the Academy is significantly restricted to hosting no more than two BPOC classes
per year. On March 27, 2025, Commissioners Court approved an agreement with Brinkley Sargent Wiginton
Architects, Inc. for professional design services for the expansion of the Harris County Sheriff's Office Training
Academy Facility as part of the 2022 Safety Bond Program, Proposition A. The expansion will include a
complementary interconnected building with three large classrooms capable of accommodating up to 220
