Background and Discussion:
On May 8, 2025 Commissioners Court approved an award to SHI Government Solutions Inc. for a Grammarly Enterprise Agreement that consolidated existing licenses for writing assistance software used by various Harris County departments. The Grammarly software is a tool used to ensure that typed communication is not only accurate in spelling, punctuation, and grammar but also clear, compelling, and easy to read. HCUS is now seeking approval for a first amendment to align the contract term date with the subscription anniversary and to increase the limit of appropriation for the next renewal.
