Background and Discussion:
Fairmont Parkway Segment 2 is part of a five-segment project that includes constructing an additional outside lane in each direction, repairing and/or overlaying of existing pavement, adding new sidewalks and improving drainage. The project also includes widening of the Spring Gully (B109-00-00) bridges to accommodate the additional lanes and pedestrian traffic. A portion of the project is in the City of La Porte.

Expected Impact:
This project seeks to improve transportation and pedestrian mobility by improving road conditions to enhance traffic flow and provide smoother and safer travel for motorists, while also creating a pedestrian-friendly environment by constructing sidewalks, promoting active transportation, and improving overall pedestrian access.

Alternative Options:
If no action is taken, the area will continue to realize traffic delays and impacts on mobility.
