Background and Discussion:
The Channel Rehabilitation at Kuykendahl and Cypress Hill Stormwater Detention Basin project comprises channel improvements to the main stem of Cypress Creek (HCFCD Unit K100-00-00) centered at Kuykendahl Road and excavation of a new stormwater detention basin. The project is being constructed using Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funds.
The scope of work includes approximately 3,000 linear feet of channel rehabilitation along the main stem of Cypress Creek centered at Kuykendahl Road with widening, benching, and bank stabilization, and the offsite disposal of approximately 487,605 cubic yards of excavated material to facilitate the construction of a dry-bottom stormwater detention basin.
