Background and Discussion:
On April 22, 2024, the federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) updated 2 CFR 200 to take effect on all federal awards issued on or after October 1, 2024. The attached policy provides a critical update, resolves a Texas General Land Office 2025 audit finding and brings Harris County in compliance for receipt of federal funds.
If this policy is not approved, Harris County will be out of compliance with federal policy and unable to draw, use or apply for federal funds.
