Background and Discussion:
The Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company (TTSTC) is responsible for distributing funds from the Opioid Abatement Settlement Fund to participating entities. Harris County's 2026 disbursement was initiated but returned because the banking instructions for a previously closed account were outdated.
To facilitate receipt of funds, the County completed an updated Direct Deposit Authorization Form that reflects current banking information. The form has been executed and, per guidance from the County Attorney's Office, is being presented to Commissioners Court for ratification and inclusion in the official record.
Expected Impact:
Ratification of the Direct Deposit Authorization Form will allow TTSTC to update the County's banking information and process the pending Opioid Abatement Settlement disbursement.
