Currently scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Irie Community BBQ is held each year at Bear Creek Park on the Sunday preceding Memorial Day weekend. Founded in 2002, Irie Community began as a small potluck where Jamaicans gathered to fellowship and celebrate their culture. The gathering grew into the annual Irie Community BBQ in Houston, Texas - an all-inclusive celebration of Caribbean food, music, sports, and family connection.
