Background and Discussion:
The above is an eminent domain matter involving HCFCD's Project Recovery Post Disaster Relocation & Buyout Program. HCFCD took a fee simple title to 8,040 square feet in Tract P118-00-00-16-821.0. The Special Commissioners awarded $ 149,000.00 which was deposited into the registry of the Court. Harris County's appraisal for the just compensation due to the landowner was $ 149,000.00. The parties have agreed that the just compensation due to the landowner for this taking is $ 220,000.00.
