Award-winning journalist Melanie Lawson is proud to tell the stories of the city where she grew up--Houston. A lifelong Houstonian, Melanie's passion for journalism began early. She started as an intern at ABC13 and rose to anchor Live at 5 and ABC13's News at 11 a.m. She retired after 43 years on January 31, 2026.
