Background and Discussion:
On September 9, 2025, Harris County Universal Services was directed to collaborate directly with the Purchasing Office to evaluate all technology purchases that interact with the County network, regardless of cost.
This is the first technology purchases quarterly report which reviews all of the technology purchases of FY25 by quarter. The next quarterly report will be submitted to Commissioners Court on May 14, 2026, and will review the FY26 Q1 technology purchases.
Expected Impact:
The quarterly report will enhance oversight of technology procurement and ensure alignment with County standards through centralized evaluation and quarterly reporting.

Without oversight and regular reporting, it could lead to fragmented technology procurement, increased security vulnerabilities, and lack of transparency in County network interactions.
