Background and Discussion:
On Friday, June 12, 2026, and Friday, June 26, 2026, Precinct 4 Transportation will take students and chaperones on the WREDI Summer Externship Tours. The trip is being sponsored by the Network of Behavioral Health Providers.

Expected Impact:
The Behavioral Health Summer Externship Program is a component of NBHP's Workforce, Recruitment, Education, and Development Initiative. This program seeks to address the behavioral health workforce shortage by developing a pipeline to increase the number of culturally and linguistically competent mental health and substance use treatment providers serving in the greater Houston area. The purpose of the Summer Externship program is to provide meaningful, paid experiential and learning opportunities to high school and college students to encourage them to enter the behavioral health field.

Alternative Options:
Not approving this request would cause the organizers to find alternative transportation.
