Background and Discussion:
Constable Jerry Garcia is requesting to assign an already existing approved position to the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force to bring monetary gains to the County and the Department of Precinct 2 Constables Office.
Expected Impact:
There will be no impact to the general fund budget. There is no required match for this grant. Harris County Constable Precinct 2 will receive an additional $5,000 for the MDS Initiative for the FY 2024 HIDTA Grant. The additional grant funds will enable the department to continue providing several law enforcement initiatives aimed at reducing the supply and trafficking of illegal drugs.
