Background and Discussion:
In August 2024, the court approved bylaws and established the Safe School Commission as a standing commission to review and develop recommendations for school safety strategies year-round. The seven members of the commission are appointed by Commissioners Court for two-year terms. However, the two commission-nominated student members (who serve in Positions 6 and 7) serve one-year terms.
