Background and Discussion:
On October 30, 2025, Harris Health appeared at the Harris County Commissioners Court to discuss the Harris Health Board of Trustees' unanimous approval on September 23, 2025 of a resolution related to the redevelopment and expansion of Ben Taub Hospital and authorization of the acquisition by eminent domain for public convenience and necessity of three parcels of land within Hermann Park of approximately 8.9 acres. At the October 30th Commissioners Court meeting, the Commissioners Court ordered Harris Health to return to Commissioners Court on January 29, 2026, for a presentation of community input (and to request a public hearing for March 19, 2026) among other detailed requests related to robust community engagement efforts.
