Background and Discussion:
In October 2025, Commissioners Court unanimously approved the bylaws establishing the Harris County Broadband Task Force. The Task Force will play a pivotal role in implementing the county's Broadband Roadmap, first introduced in June 2025, by improving digital infrastructure and closing the connectivity gap. Appointments to nearly all seats on the Task Force were made by Commissioners Court on January 8, 2026. However, the position for a public member representing non-profits addressing the digital divide remains vacant.
