Background and Discussion:
The above is an eminent domain matter involving Tract 7 of the Traffic Signal and Intersection Improvement Package-Fry Rd -2023 Project located in Precinct 4. Harris County is acquiring a roadway easement, totaling 0.0029 acres (128 square feet). Pursuant to the Special Commissioners' Award, Harris County will deposit the award of $17,972.00, which the Landowner objected to. The case is currently set for trial on June 29, 2026. The Landowner demanded $45,729.20. After negotiations with the Landowner, the parties agreed that the just compensation due to the Landowner for the property acquired is $33,000 (128 square feet) for Tract 7.

The Real Property Division participated in the settlement negotiations, and this settlement is acceptable to them.

An order authorizing the settlement of this lawsuit is attached for use by the Court if it decides it would be in the County's best interest to settle this claim.
