Background and Discussion:
Commissioners Court approved law enforcement pay parity with the Houston Police Department to be effective in FY26. This supplemental ($3.4M) is needed to true-up the discrepancy between the amount initially allocated to LE departments for the changes in step and vacant versus filled positions. Additional supplemental budget transfers might be needed as vacant positions become filled.
