Background and Discussion:
The district was created during the 89th Legislative Session to manage sediment buildup and flooding in Lake Houston and its tributaries. The district is managed by a board of five directors: four appointed by the city of Houston, and one by the governing body of the Harris County Flood Control District. Since the district's boundaries and work are largely within the boundaries of Precinct 3, the commissioner of that precinct may nominate a candidate for the position as provided in the adopted Boards and Commissions Uniform Board Policies and Procedures, Section 8, D. Appointment Process.

Expected Impact:
Appointment of a county representative, on behalf of the HCFCD, to the newly created district board.
