Background and Discussion:
On August 7, 2025, Commissioner's Court approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) and Harris County Public Health (HCPH). The purpose is for HCPH to provide court ordered sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing for outsourced inmates and inmates housed at the Harris County Jail.

Expected Impact:
The addition of a part-time Medical Assistant will enhance collaboration between Harris County Public Health and the Harris County Sheriff's Office by ensuring timely, consistent, and efficient court-ordered STI testing for both outsourced and in-jail populations.
