Background and Discussion:
Per the Hiring Freeze policy, OMB has created an initial list of PCNs from non-exempt departments that are recommended for classification exemptions. The determination of these exemptions is found in Appendix I, under "Classifications recommended for blanket exemption," and these positions will remain open upon court approval. This item seeks to provide follow-up on the original SOP approved by court with the current expected savings, and further exemptions requested by departments.
Expected Impact:
The FY26 budget includes $25 million in Hiring Freeze savings that will be accrued through the fiscal year once PCNs are frozen.
