Background and Discussion:
This is a request to approve right-of-way acquisition for the Hurricane Harvey HMGP DR-4332-004 Buyout in
the A-W watershed. Homeowners in flood-prone areas have contacted the Flood Control District for assistance in purchasing their homes. These properties are located Countywide and were approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency for purchase.

Expected Impact:
These properties will be purchased, and the structures demolished in order to restore them to their natural
function as floodplain.

Alternative Options:
Denial of this request would result in leaving intact residential structures that are prone to flooding, and the
homeowners that contacted Flood Control to purchase their homes would not be able to sell and relocate.
