Background and Discussion:
Through the ordinary course of business, the District Attorney's Office utilizes the County Purchasing Department to perform purchasing functions. To be compliant with the statutes of the State of Texas, DAO desires to enter into a contract for those purchasing functions.

Expected Impact:
There is not expected to be a notable change with this request. This will allow operations to continue while maintaining statutory compliance.

Alternative Options:
The statute provides an undesirable avenue for DAO to purchase items with the same procedure and subject to the same requirements applicable to a county under Subchapter C, Chapter 262 of the TX Local Gov't Code.
