Background and Discussion:
The City of Houston announced that it would increase pay to their law enforcement starting in July 2025. The increases would be equal to 36.5% over the next five years. Commissioners Court requested that OMB negotiate with law enforcement officials and the unions to provide for an initial increase to Harris County officers to bring them to parity with City of Houston officers.
The discussion will be around the practice of moving individuals into the correct classification of the new scale.
