Background and Discussion:
A new term contract is needed to find a qualified vendor to provide a Rapid DNA Analyses System with maintenance and support for the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The new term contract will be setup for one (1) initial year with four (4) one-year options to renew.
Expected Impact:
Award approval will allow the vendor for this contract to provide a Rapid DNA Analyses System for HCIFS. This instrument will utilize a fully automated process to generate a DNA profile using STRs from a biological sample in under two hours which will be used to process casework.
