Background and Discussion:

This project is located within the Precinct 1 maintenance facilities within Tom Bass Park. The park is located on the west side of Cullen Boulevard between Beltway 8 and Clear Creek. A new structure is needed to properly allow the Precinct to service its horticulture needs.

Expected Impact:

This Project seeks to provide a facility that allows for a more efficient use of the Precinct horticulture staff to perform their routine and special activities in a protected setting. The new facility will use a premanufactured building envelope that is customized to the needs of the staff, including protected potting stations, restroom facilities, offices, and other necessary facilities in a single location, which currently have to occur in disparate locations.

Alternative Options:

Should the project not go forward, existing staff tasks would continue in less efficient form at the existing locations.
