Background and Discussion:
The amendment of the contract for State Case Registry and Local Customer Service between the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas and the County would continue providing comprehensive, effective, and efficient child support services. The DRO has provided this service for twenty-three years through multiple contracts for services. The contract is retroactive to September 1, 2021.
Expected Impact:
Under this agreement, the DRO creates accounts for new Harris County child support orders at the Texas State Disbursement Unit and provides expanded customer service on child support cases. Federal legislation allows the OAG to pass along federal dollars at 66% reimbursement to counties for services provided.
