Request by the Sheriff's Office for approval to accept an amendment to an agreement with Houston-Galveston Area Council in the amount of $550,000, with no required match, and to extend the grant end date to January 31, 2026 for the FY25 Motorist Assistance Program (MAP), Incident Management Unit (IMU) and Tow and Go Program.

Background and Discussion:
This grant program funds the salaries of several grant positions and provides motorists assistance on Harris County freeways and contracting with vendors to remove stalled vehicles. A match is not required and it is unknown if a discretionary match will be needed. We will bring the new contract to Commissioners Court for approval when it is finished.
Expected Impact:
Removes stalled and abandoned vehicles in Harris County highways. No impact to the current budget in place.
