Background and Discussion:
Harris County Precinct One, in collaboration Commissioners of Precincts 2 and 3, is seeking approval for a resolution that is required for the application for the Texas Department of Transportation Alternatives Set- Aside program funding. Funding is designed to fund bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and planning. Precinct One would like to improve the sidewalk network in the Wallisville area to/around Galena Park ISD's North Shore High School campus, at the northwest corner of N Castlegory Road at Wallisville Road. Expected Impact:
[D13]The funding would be used to increase pedestrian access within the Wallisville area, with special focus on connections between North Shore High School and San Jacinto College. Additional community resources which would be positively impacted include North Shore Middle School, the East Houston Hospital, the YMCA, several grocery stores, commercial strips, and the various residential neighborhoods adjacent to the school campuses.
