Background and Discussion:
An increase to the HCFCD maintenance budget was approved by voters in 2024. The increase will be used to hire new field crews to maintain critical storm water drainage infrastructure. Some of the new field crews will work out of the Harris County Flood Control's South Service Center, which needs to be remodeled to accommodate new field crews. Approval to use Job Order Contract (JOC) Job No. 230329 for the remodeling construction is requested.
Expected Impact:
Showers, lockers, restrooms and office space for new crews. These new crews will enable faster response to community reported storm water drainage problems and progress towards the VATRE goal of a 67 year maintenance cycle.
