Background and Discussion:
Sylvan Beach Triathlon with race entry fee of $125 per person. The event is from 5:00am to 11:30am on 06/08/2025. Ron Stitt is the Race Director.
Expected Impact:
Expecting 400 guests. Set-up time is 1:00pm to 8:00pm on 06/07/2025. Breakdown is expected to be completed by 1:30pm on 06/08/2025. The event will take place at the Sylvan Beach Park, parking lot, sidewalks and trails, and the Galveston Bay that borders the park. Lifeguards will be present for the event. Portable toilets will be on site. Signage, safety cones and barricades, and traffic control will be present on the premises. Hydration stations will be provided. Sponsor booths amplified sound for the announcer will be provided. An inflatable arch set up at the start and finish lines. The triathlon will consist of running, biking, and swimming. Harris County Sheriff's will be present at the Sylvan Beach location for the safety of the constituents, along with La Porte EMS.
