Background and Discussion:
The Office of the County Engineer has requested to re-engage with the structural engineer to provide design phase documents for the demolition of the 1301 Franklin Street Building located at 1301 Franklin Street, Houston, TX 77002. This 13-story building plus a full basement consists of a cast-in-place concrete structure with a brick exterior. It is approximately 811,079 SF and is currently minimally occupied with stored items. It was building in 1980 as has ceased functioning as a jail in 2003.
