Transmittal by the Flood Control District of an updated report of the Harris County Modeling, Assessment, Awareness Project (MAAPnext).

Background and Discussion:
This transmittal provides an update on the Flood Control District's MAAPnext project. Since the last update, the Flood Control District has been working closely with FEMA to resolve any outstanding comments. It is anticipated that FEMA will release draft flood insurance rate maps (FIRMs) in late 2025, and preliminary FIRMs in early 2026 based on the best available information. Community outreach and education will take place throughout the release of the FIRMs. In the meantime, updates to Commissioners Court will continue to be provided on a quarterly basis, with increased frequency once FEMA has completed its review of data.
Expected Impact:
The members of the court will have more recent information about the status of this project and may prepare accordingly.
