Background and Discussion:
On February 6, 2025, the Treasurer's Office requested approval for the addition of five (5) full-time positions due to the increased scope of duties and responsibilities and to be in compliance with Texas Property Code Chapter 76. On February 6, 2025, Commissioner's Court approved (1) position for the Treasurer's Office using Fund 6250. OMB and OCA have recommended that the Treasurer's Office transfer $35,000 in interest from Fund 6250 that is not needed to pay unclaimed property claims into Fund 1000 to create new position.

Expected Impact:
This position will solely be responsible for all administering the unclaimed property process under Texas Property Code Chapter 76, which requires the Treasurer's Office to develop an unclaimed property program for the reporting, delivery, public notification, claims processing, enforcement and accounting of the reported unclaimed property.
