Background and Discussion:
On March 26, 2024, Harris County, and the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) entered Amendment 18 to am interlocal agreement for the provision of bus services for one year between the Baytown Park and Ride, located at the San Jacinto Mall, to the Downtown Business District of Houston.
This service was developed to mitigate traffic congestion, promote regional coordination, and reduce emissions along the Interstate 10 corridor. METRO provides this service at an incremental cost between the San Jacinto Mall Park and Ride and the METRO Maxey Road facility. Amendments 2 through 17 have been approved annually and METRO wishes to continue the service for another year.

Expected Impact:
The expected impact of the item is continued regional transportation coordination and reduction of traffic congestion. The fiscal impact of this item is anticipated to be $66,793.05 in Federal Transit Administration 5307 grant funds.
