Request by the Constable of Precinct 5 for approval to modify the agreement for overtime reimbursement with the United States Marshals Service via the existing memorandum of understanding in the additional amount of $16,000 for personnel assigned to the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force.

Background and Discussion:
The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force has consistently worked in close partnership with local law enforcement agencies including Harris County Precinct Five. U.S. Marshals task forces combine the efforts of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest the most dangerous fugitives. The task force officers are state and local police officers who receive special deputations with the Marshals. The Gulf Coast Task Force is transferring funds to support an overtime program in collaboration with Precinct Five Constables as support on arrest initiatives with in the boundaries of Harris County.
