Request by the Constable of Precinct 6 for approval to integrate the proposed salary scale for the new Detective rank classification into the Constables pay scale and rank structure.

Background and Discussion:
Commissioners Court, approved this adjusted detective salary scale for The Harris County Sheriff's Office, on February 6, 2025. On September 12, 2023, Commissioners' Court approved the request to establish the rank of detective. On October 08, 2024, the HCSO submitted the request to create the previously approved promotional rank of Detective. The proposed salary scale had to be revised as the new proposed scale for the promotional rank was below Senior Deputy pay which would exclude senior deputies from considering the new rank a promotion. The proposed new salary scale below includes three steps, just as the other promotional Peace Officer ranks already included in the Constable's pay scale.
