Request Summary (Agenda Caption):
title
Request for discussion and possible action for authorization for employees to cash out compensatory time earned from January 17, 2025, through the pay period ending January 31, 2025, due to the preparation, response, and recovery efforts in connection to Winter Storm Enzo beginning on January 19, 2025.

Background and Discussion:
County employees are eligible to accrue compensatory time pursuant to the Harris County and Harris County Flood Control Personnel Policies and Procedures. Due to the recent weather event, there are concerns by departments that employees who are performing preparation, response, and recovery activities may accumulate excessive compensatory time.
This request is for Commissioners Court to consider allowing eligible employees who worked in response to and recovery from the events to cash out compensatory time earned during the period beginning January 17, 2025 through January 31, 2025.
Employees should record their time using the project code created by the Auditor's Office and maintain worklogs of their disaster job duties. The Office of County Administration and Human Resources and Talent will work with the Auditor's Office and Universal Services to determine the mechanism to accomplish this request.
