Request by the Sheriff's Office for approval to submit an application to the Office of the Governor/Homeland Security Grants Division for grant funds in the amount of $70,000,000, with no cash match, for the FY26 Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Center grant.

Background and Discussion:
This funding will support all aspects of TAG Center operation from September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026. This grant has no statutory cash match requirements and will require no local discretionary funding.
Expected Impact:
This grant is used to fund TAG Center operations along with supplies, equipment and software expenses to be utilized by HCSO and partnering agencies for the purpose of investigating gang related crimes in this region.
Alternative Options:
If we do not apply for this grant, the Houston TAG will not be funded for the upcoming year.
