On October 10, 2023, Commissioners Court approved the request to accept a grant award from the U.S.
Department of Justice for grant funds in the amount of $100,000.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to utilize virtual reality equipment to better prepare personnel for responding to critical
calls for service involving de-escalation and crisis intervention situations.
Alternative Options:
If our agency does not accept the grant award amendment, the Sheriff's Office would forfeit the opportunity
receive the purchased virtual reality training equipment before the grant end date.
