Background and Discussion:
The Sheriff's Office submitted a joint application with the City of Houston to the U.S. Department of Justice for the FY 2024 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). A requirement of the grant is that the Certifications and Assurances form be approved and signed by chief executive of the applicant government.
Expected Impact:
Grant funds will be used by the Sheriff's Office to purchase necessary equipment and to fund overtime costs. The Constables will receive 25% of the grant amount for equipment.
