Background and Discussion:
The County seeks to retain Agha Engineering, LLC to conduct the study and design for upgrading the existing Clay Road - Katy Hockley Rd to Katy Hockley Cutoff Rd - 2023 from 2-lane asphalt pavement roadway with roadside ditches to a 4-lane concrete boulevard with medians, underground storm sewer, and sidewalks.

Expected Impact:
The project will upgrade and expand the capacity of the two-lane roadway to handle the demands of the current and future traffic volumes. The improvement will alleviate congestion, reduce delays, and provide safe mobility for residents, pedestrians, and drivers in Northwest Katy. The project will provide safe crossing for students of Haskett Junior High School and Faldyn Elementary School.

Alternative Options:
If no action is taken, the benefits associated with the proposed improvement will not be achieved depriving the residents and road users of the advantages of these proposed improvements.

Alignment with Goal(s):
X Justice and Safety
_ Economic Opportunity
_ Housing
_ Public Health
X Transportation
_ Flooding
_ Environment
X Governance and Customer Service
