Background and Discussion:
The project includes drainage improvements along Huffman Cleveland Road between FM 2100 and Channel S102-01-00 (approximately 2,250 LF). Homes on Valley Commons Drive and west of Yonder Way have experienced localized road access issues and structural flooding due to poor drainage of the unlined ditch on the west side of Huffman Cleveland Road. The ditch has meandered from its original alignment and has areas with slope stability that has periodically been addressed by the County by placing rip rap and base material to improve bank stabilization. A TxDOT Project to improve FM 2100 will improve drainage, but further improvements are recommended.

Expected Impact:
The proposed project will identify and implement a cost-effective solution to improve drainage to reduce the frequency of residential flooding, as well as improve slope stability to enhance driver safety.

Alternative Options:
Without this project, the new drainage improvements on Huffman Cleveland Road will not be realized as requested by Precinct 3.
