Background and Discussion:
The Greater Harris County 9-1-1 was established in November 1983 to administer the 9-1-1 emergency communications and technology infrastructure for cities in and around Harris and Fort Bend Counties and some surrounding areas. The Network is largely funded by emergency service fees. The Network is governed by a six-member board of managers representing governments, organizations, and the public through the services area.
Expected Impact:
Reappointment to an at-large position previously appointed by Precinct 1, which will enable continuity of operations and leadership on the board.
