Background and Discussion:

This project is a coordination effort between Harris County Precinct 4 and METRO to design and construct new bus shelters. Precinct 4 requested that Harris County Engineering Department (HCED) manage the installation of new METRO bus shelters and shelter furnishings at up to 200 shelter ready locations across Precinct 4.

Expected Impact:

New bus shelters will provide riders with a safe and clean place to wait for bus service as well as enhance the visual appeal of the surrounding location. Project also aims to furnish riders with protection from sun and rain, both of which Houston and Harris County commuters experience regularly in the region's subtropical climate.
