Background and Discussion:
This project includes the construction of a new water distribution and sanitary sewer system to serve West Bertrand Street and West Mierianne Street and service connections, and the decommissioning of existing wells and abandonment to eligible residents.

The overrun in fire hydrant quantities occurred due to an unanticipated requirement during project execution. Initially, the bid item included the installation of 2 fire hydrants, which was based on the project's preliminary design and assumptions. However, upon further review and during the actual execution, it was determined that 3 fire hydrants were needed to ensure proper fire safety compliance and adequate coverage for the area.

Expected Impact:
Increase the total cost for the contract and adding 1 additional day to the contract time.

Alternative Options:
No action will result in substandard construction.
