Background and Discussion:
This project was approved on Commissioners Court on 10/13/2020. Improvements include interior renovation of the office suite, adding emergency shower drains, and upgrading the laboratory suite to 100% operational during a disaster event, which includes a water tank for domestic water and a new 1000 kW emergency generator for electricity.
The interior portion of the renovation is complete, the exterior portion of the work still needs to be completed.
Expected Impact:
Upon completion of the project, Harris County Pollution Control Services will be able to maintain full operations during major disaster and storm events. The requested partial payment of retainage will allow all trades who have completed their portion of the work on the interior renovation to be paid their retainage.
Alternative Options:
Commissioner court could postpone the retainage until the entire project is completed.
