Background and Discussion:
Harris County Public Health was awarded a Healthy Start Initiative (HSI) grant, for 5 years, which is focused on addressing perinatal health outcomes for mothers, families and babies in Harris County. One of the grant deliverables is to facilitate a Healthy Start Community Consortium to advise on the HSI program's implementation in the Harris County community. The Community consortium consists of a multi-sector group of leaders from key stakeholder organizations that impact perinatal health, as well as 5 community members that are representative of Healthy Start participants. HCPH is requested to provide $100 gift cards to each of the 5 community member representatives for each quarterly meeting for each year of the grant.

Expected Impact:
The impact of this request is to provide an act of appreciation for the community members who are volunteering their time to participate in the Community Consortium. An active HSI Community Consortium is a key requirement for successful administration of the grant.
